A descriptive essay is a type of essay that aims to provide a detailed and comprehensive description of a person, place, object, or event. It allows the writer to use their imagination and descriptive language to bring the subject to life for the reader.
The layout of a descriptive essay is similar to that of any other essay. It should have an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
The introduction should provide some background information on the subject of the essay and introduce the main points that will be discussed in the body paragraphs. It should also include a thesis statement that clearly states the purpose of the essay.
The body paragraphs should be organized in a logical order, with each paragraph focusing on a specific aspect of the subject. The writer should use descriptive language and sensory details to bring the subject to life for the reader. It is also important to use transitions between paragraphs to help the essay flow smoothly.
The conclusion should summarize the main points of the essay and restate the thesis. It should also leave the reader with a lasting impression or final thoughts on the subject.
Overall, the layout of a descriptive essay should be well-organized and easy to follow. By using descriptive language and sensory details, the writer can bring the subject to life for the reader and create a memorable and engaging essay.
The Lorax
The Lorax shares a story of a persistent creature named Lorax who is frustrated with the Truffula trees being cut down by the evil Once-Ler. Like the music video it shows how it will change if we keep on destroying the environment. Read with an open mind and enjoy…. Corporations such as this has hit an all time low J Mrshall Do trees grow back? Although some industries do infuriate me with their environmentally un-sound actions, I never find the motivation to chain myself to a tree while hoping to not get pepper-sprayed. Diseases, drought, flood, earthquake happen increasingly. We need more food, more fresh water, fresh air, more place to live, ect.
Loggers wrote a parody of Dr. Seuss‘s “The Lorax” called "Truax"
How far will we go? You are for making a mockery of the attempt to actually educate people about both sides and not just your favorite. These all show how society had to move or died out because of society's impact on the environment. Because of the deforestation, the biodiversity that the environments held suffered and caused many species to die out. Only after the environments are ruined to the characters, or natives, begin to worry and become full of regret. I did read the Truax and I gave it an unbiased try but all I could see was propaganda, their biased points with such little hard facts to drive their points, and their portrayal of the Guardbark felt rather insulting.
Deforestation can lead to things such as lack of natural resources, lack of food, and ultimately the collapse of a society. This is sugguested when the Truax cuts down trees to use as lumber for his business, but plants more because he knows we will need them in the future and doesn't want for the world to run out. You can also compare these issues to the imagery that we saw in the Disturbed music video. Both of which are not renewable resources. A sage and bossy creature called the Lorax defends trees against the Once-ler, who relentlessly chops them down to make clothes. The Lorax and the Easter Island civilization show us the dangers associated with deforestation. Truax, on the other hand, is 20 pages of complaining about The Lorax.
He plants five seeds for every one tree he cuts down. Throw the Truax in the garbage that is what it is for, trash!! Truax is an odd little attempt at parody from people who obviously felt slighted by Dr. The people only thought of themselves and what would give them comfort, but ignored the possible outcome that environmental devastation would bring their downfall. How much will we pay? The Lorax focused on the environmental issues of air pollution and deforestation, while Easter Island examined the collapse of a whole society. The ecology books I'd read were dull. In both books, characters have conflicts about how the environment should be treated and how the effects can turn out to be long term. The Truax explains that we can use resources as long as we can replace them and don't harm anything else when he plants new trees and explains that houses can't be made out of metal or other materials because they will run out.
A Look at Lorax and Truax's Distinctly Different Interpretations of the Same Problem
It told a fictional account of what happened in a town where nature was less important than big business and the environment suffered. I am the Truax, I speak for the hardwood flooring industry…. My understanding of The Lorax's intentions of educating the youth gave me a better perspective as to what deforestation and greed can do to a society. I believe this world is big enough for everybody and everyone has their side to the story. The people that lived on Easter Island were unaware that the deforestation was damaging the environment and would in turn be the downfall of their civilization.
We can follow the examples of the Truax and teach the next generation at an early age. The images shown in the Disturbed music video are a futuristic example of what human civilization will move towards if we do not protect the environment. I hate to say but most people dont care about things until it affects them and care less about animals Elisabeth Harrell I was looking for the Daily Show episode that featured this book and came across this website. As time passed, the area became choked with pollution, and the Lorax was forced to send the animals away to find more hospitable habitats. The Truax is a better model to follow, than the Lorax, as a society.
The Truax: A Parody of The Lorax from the Oak Flooring Association
The Lorax sugguests that there needs to be steps taken to maintain a balanced sustainability. Lorax Voice for the trees Lorax and logger Truax are considered heroes in their respective stories. I think that it was created to give the hardwood flooring industry a better reputation whereas the Lorax is brutally honest and spells out what our future could end up as if we don't take action. In a retrospective critique written in the journal In 2012, Travis Scholl evaluated the book in a positive manner and noted the similarities between the Lorax and Biblical prophets. The music video has caught my attention was how the people drink there water.
Furthermore, pay the bills online to help conserve trees. To give my honest opinion about the Truax, I do not believe it. Our future, you know, is dependent on these. Seuss, author of The Lorax, is an extremely well known children's author so I would believe he is credible. I think that these stories contribute to environmental literacy because they are aimed toward children and help the younger generation to understand our environmental problems without being too harsh or inappropriate.
After a drive through the majestic redwoods, she arrived in Redding, where she immersed herself in horticulture as owner of her own landscaping company and as assistant to an arborist. What of the issue of pollution that was addressed in the original? In the disturbed music video, the images made one feel uncomfortable and sort of puts them in shock in seeing that society may end up in the same situation if action is not put in motion. . The Truax should be ashamed of themselves! I am not sure whether or not I believe Terri Birkett is reliable due to the fact that her business is in the hardwood flooring industry and she seems like she is trying to make it look as though her profession isn't ruining the environment. In the Truax, honestly I think that the Truax has an anthropocentric worldview, because he did plant trees but first he cut them down and he also acted very nonchalant about certain species going extinct.
In part, the destruction of the environment may well be driven by greed and the search for wealth. On June 16, 2019, the tree was reported to have fallen. It feels like it was something quickly written out trying to focus more on defaming The Lorax and putting together a rhyming scheme more so than making their case plausible. In these stories there are reasons to protect the environment as well as reasons to responsibly harvest resources. In the animated version there is more of a sting as the comment about Lake Erie was in regard to the lake being so polluted it caught fire in 1969. So, here is a link to that story, written by Terri Birkett. These could be seen as these works showed pollution and deforestation in the world.
