The Great Controversy is a book written by Ellen G. White, a pioneer of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is a work of historical and theological analysis that delves into the conflict between good and evil, and the role that God has played in this conflict throughout history. The book is divided into several sections, each of which covers a different period in history and examines the way in which God has worked to bring about His will and plan for the world.

One of the key themes of The Great Controversy is the concept of free will. White argues that God has given human beings the ability to choose between good and evil, and that this choice has significant consequences for both individuals and society as a whole. She also explores the ways in which Satan has sought to deceive and mislead people, and how God has worked to counter these efforts and bring people back to a right relationship with Him.

The Great Controversy also addresses the topic of the end times, or the final judgment and the return of Jesus Christ. White believes that the end times will be marked by a great conflict between God and Satan, and that this conflict will have far-reaching consequences for the entire world. She also discusses the role that the Seventh-day Adventist Church will play in this conflict, and how believers can prepare for the end times by living faithfully and spreading the gospel message.

Overall, The Great Controversy is a thought-provoking and deeply spiritual work that explores some of the most fundamental questions of faith. It is a must-read for anyone interested in understanding the nature of God and His plan for the world, and the ways in which we can live in accordance with His will.

stylos: A brief examination of "The Great Controversy"

the great controversy review

A quite controversial book in addressing different dogmatic views of Christianity. Satan employs every possible device to prevent men from obtaining a knowledge of the Bible; for its plain utterances reveal his deceptions. The knowledge and counsel received through these revelations she wrote out to be shared with others. Not really my thing and it certainly didn't change my views. The fact that there are many opinions or that there are false opinions does not invalidate true or accurate opinions. I received this book unsolicited in the mail today and was unpleasantly unsurprised to discover its religious origins.

Have you not noticed that in my writing, I'm not even sure if it is right to believe that I c an call Jesus God? Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath and has the sovereignty to transfer the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday in the new covenant Mark 2:28. Before I was saved, I wasn't a bible reader and I thought anyone who believed in Jesus was a Christian. They are taught to accept its teachings as interpreted by the church; and there are thousands who dare receive nothing, however plainly revealed in Scripture, that is contrary to their creed or the established teaching of their church. It is true that Jesus was raised on the first day of the week, Sunday. The book will be made available in over 70 languages by 2023, when the project is expected to officially launch.

But Jesus rebuked them. The book opens with the events surrounding the destruction of Jerusalem as foretold by Jesus before his death and takes us down through the ages, through those who accepted His truth and the price they paid for it, up through the Protestant reformation and rise of Reason as played out in the French Revolution and finally through the future events revealed to the Apostle John in the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

. I don't understand why some Ministers call thier doctrines heresy. He commanded his disciples to love one another John 13:34-35 and where is that lived out but in the church? Read the KJV of the Bible. Especially when it comes to end time events, bible prophecy, life after death, the Sanctuary etc. White, one of the early founders of the Adventist movement. At first I thought we were just having a good conversation about Jesus, but as the conversation progressed, he started directing me towards this book. That said, I love her Christology and her emphasis on glorifying God in out lives.

Through Sunday, the city recorded 125 homicides, an 84 percent increase over the same period last year when 68 people were slain, according to official Chicago police statistics. Paul stayed seven days in Troas, but the church there did not gather for worship till the first day of the week Acts 20:6-7. Then, when I finally dig in, it was one of those books where so had to grab a dictionary and a highlighter because there was just so much history and "wow". She, along with other Sabbatarian Adventist leaders, formed what is now known as the Seventh-day Adventist Church. However, not one instance of Sunday observance has been found in Scripture. The 1884 book was reaching beyond the ranks of Seventh-day Adventists. Who has cast an evil spell on you? The Great Controversy wouldn't be the first book from this author that I would recommend based upon where a person is in relation to their understanding of God.

They are very deceptive because they sound very Christian only the Lord knows for sure but their teachings are so off. Indeed, some in the religion of Christianity may see this as a wake-up call by how well it outlines and highlights evidences that may become mundane are even irrelevant by toda The Great Controversy is a revealing, in-depth study and revelation about the Last Days the bible talks about, namely in the books of Daniel, Matthew and Revelation. I don't feel that sense of community and family in Christ. And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either. The first third of the book is basically a history of the reformation, up to the 19th century.

The Great Controversy: Past, Present, Future, How Will It End? by Ellen Gould White

the great controversy review

I spent a day at my aunt and uncle's, who are pretty serious about the SDA church. He was a former Baptist preacher who became enmeshed in end times speculations and numerology, wrongly predicting the return of Christ on October 22, 1843. . As already shown, the theory which forms the very foundation of spiritualism is at war with the plainest statements of Scripture. As a matter of fact it will change your life and perception of life forever.

I appreciate the time you took to reply! It is in 70 AD, the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70.
