It was a dark and stormy night, the kind of night where you just want to curl up with a good book and a warm blanket. But as I lay in bed, I couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right.
I had always been a skeptic when it came to ghosts and the supernatural, but as the night wore on, I began to feel a creeping sense of dread. It started with a faint rustling sound, like someone gently moving the curtains. I tried to ignore it and told myself it was just the wind, but the noise only seemed to grow louder.
Suddenly, I heard a soft tapping at my window. I sat up in bed, my heart racing. I couldn't see anyone outside, but the tapping continued, growing more insistent by the second.
I tried to calm my nerves and rationalize what was happening. Maybe it was just a branch hitting the window. But as I listened closer, the tapping didn't sound like it was coming from outside. It sounded like it was coming from within my room.
I slowly turned my head, and that's when I saw it. A faint, translucent figure standing at the foot of my bed. It was a woman, dressed in a long white nightgown. She had a sad, mournful look on her face, and she seemed to be reaching out to me.
I was frozen with fear, unable to move or speak. The ghost continued to stare at me, her eyes filled with pain and desperation. And then, as suddenly as it had appeared, she vanished.
I lay in bed, shaking and unable to sleep for the rest of the night. I couldn't explain what had just happened, but I knew one thing for certain: I would never forget the ghost that visited me that stormy night.
