There were times when I thought that - hmmm, it's sooo apparent that it's been written by a female with a very feminine perspective of tings because a guy will not react thus. I tend to like novels by Jane Green. I was totally engaged and loved the characters of Grace, Sybil, and Lydia. When they lose their home just before Christmas, Grace, eleven, and her two younger brothers are sent temporarily to a children's home. When they met, she was enamored with him, as she was a lowly assistant cookbook editor; however, as time moved on things were not so glamorous. Fortified with stellar recommendations, Beth is surprisingly available to start immediately. On the other, even her reaction to cancer was so far out in NeverNever Land that I was at first flabbergasted and then hysterical, cause let me tell ya folks, I worked oncology for almost 15 years and it don't happen like that. What happens next is the stuff of nightmares.

. But she can't just leave the child with strangers, especially when she thinks the baby is being neglected. Nice touch with the front cover; after you read you will understand the meaning. At home, she exhibits bizarre behavior by eating a peach cobbler with her fingers and smearing it on her face. She sounded like the son was a 5 year old instead of a 18 year old guy or like the son was on his death bed and needed those last months? There were a lot of moral and ethical decisions discussed in this book and yet none of them were given a resolution. I enjoyed this one and give the author credit for such a challenging and vibrant story. What happened to self respect and having respect for each other? Both of you could be—and should be—fired for your actions.
