Baisakhi holds a special significance for the Sikh community as it marks the founding of the Khalsa Panth, a group of devout Sikh warriors, by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699. Baisakhi is also celebrated as a harvest festival and is a time of joy and celebration for the Sikh community.
On Baisakhi, Sikhs visit gurudwaras, or Sikh temples, and participate in special prayers and kirtans. They also offer donations and partake in the Langar, a community meal served in the gurudwaras. In addition to the religious ceremonies, Baisakhi is also celebrated with traditional dance and music performances, such as the Bhangra and Gidda.
