In chapter 10 of "The Hunger Games," Katniss and Peeta have just been declared the winners of the 74th Hunger Games, and they are now returning home to District 12. As they travel through the districts on a Victory Tour, they are greeted with cheering crowds and lavish celebrations. However, Katniss is struggling to come to terms with the trauma she experienced in the arena, and she finds it difficult to play the role of the happy victor.
During the tour, Katniss and Peeta visit each of the districts and are given gifts and praises by the people. However, Katniss is starting to see the cracks in the Capitol's facade and begins to realize that the districts are much more impoverished and oppressed than she had previously thought. She becomes more and more disillusioned with the Capitol and its leaders, and she starts to see the Hunger Games as a way for the Capitol to exert control over the districts.
At the same time, Katniss begins to feel a growing affection for Peeta, who has always been kind and supportive to her. She starts to see him as more than just a fellow tribute, and she starts to feel guilty for not being able to return his feelings.
As the tour comes to an end, Katniss and Peeta return home to District 12, where they are welcomed with open arms by their families and friends. However, Katniss is still struggling to come to terms with her experiences in the arena, and she finds it difficult to adjust to life back in her district. Despite her victory, she feels more lost and alone than ever before.
Windi Febrina Gunawan: The Hunger Games Summary (Chapter 10
She quickly sends an arrow towards the Gamemakers table and through the apple in the mouth of the giant pig lying on the table. She becomes angry with Peeta as a result, going so far as to shove him over an urn of flowers. While answering the questions, Katniss finds Cinna standing in the crowd and acts like she is talking to him, her answers turn out perfectly and she wins the crowds heart. Who survived the attack? The sponsors are watching the Games, because they are broadcast on television to the whole country. She didn't have a great interview, but now the country is talking about the lovers who must try to kill each other.
She runs from the heat and smoke along with the rest of the fleeing woodland creatures. The faces of the dead are projected into the sky: no Peeta. To this point, she has struggled at times to know when Peeta was being honest with her, about his romantic feelings for instance, and when he was playing to the audience as part of a strategy to get more sponsors. She spreads it on her calf and hands, and they magically improve. She goes to the roof and finds Peeta who tells her he expects to die but he is really afraid that they are going to change him.
They are now ready to go into the arena and fight for their lives. At the Cornucopia, Katniss tries to run and grab the item marked for District 12, but she gets into a fight with a female tribute. Be sure to describe it in your own words. I feel like they both have a great chance of surviving in the arena. Web Katniss is overwhelmed with anxiety and fear for in a little bit she could be dead.
After washing, Katniss kills a bird and follows the stream for a bit and then cooks her food. Just get away from the other competitors — and find a water source. By the lake, Cato comes suddenly barreling toward them. From that point on Haymitch promises to control his drinking and help teach them skills they will need to survive. After Peeta confesses his love for Katniss on television, Katniss is initially embarrassed and then infuriated. On the way she realizes nothing she might have done would have prevented an uprising in District 8, and President Snow was likely just trying to distract her to keep her from doing anything inflammatory. It is so bad that you can see the bone.
Cinna says that he truly believes that Katniss will win. Just in front of her is a small tarp. He strokes her hair as she falls asleep. That's when she notices a pair of eyes in a neighboring tree. Caesar says this is all a bit of bad luck. At this news, Katniss cries out Peeta's name.
What was all that talk on the rooftop about being true to himself? That means thirteen tributes remain. Effie takes Katniss to teach her how to walk in high heels, smile, wear a gown and make a good first impression. Eight died the first day. Katniss shoots him the next day to end his agony. She knows she must have a sponsor and Haymitch could easily send her water, but then she realizes he may not be doing so for a reason.
Career Tributes are the Capitol's lapdogs — hated by all of the audience. Like when it's quitting time for the workers. After awhile, Katniss is fully healed and all of her cuts, scars, and burns are now invisible. She re-arranges her supplies and heads back to the stream. They discover the body of a tribute who Katniss nicknamed Foxface, and Katniss realizes she died from eating the berries.
Katniss thinks her only chance of escaping may be to drop the nest onto the tributes below. Yes, Peeta has teamed up with the Career Tributes. Cato has cut him badly on his leg. While it is obvious that the other tributes pose a threat, it becomes clear that the greater, or at least more immediate, threat may simply be surviving in a foreign environment without any food or water readily available. Effie Trinket picks a girl name and a boy name out of a big glass ball. They never did help since that would have resulted in their death as well. They think the people of the district moved underground, and the Capitol leaves them alone because their principal industry was nuclear development.
It belongs to Peeta. Katniss also believes that the fireball attack stopped before it killed her deliberately, because killing her would limit her entertainment value. Why is Kat happy that the cameras are filming her? Analysis The Games are constantly causing Katniss to question those around her, particularly Peeta, but even Haymitch, whom she believes doesn't like or care about her, which is particularly stressful since he is in charge of delivering any gifts from sponsors. Jaded with the weight of responsibility, Katniss spends her days illegally hunting in the woods for game with her bow and arrows. They spend the next day in the cave flirting. Rue tells Katniss about District 11.
Peeta made her look desirable and raised their popularity.
