The issue of women's safety has been a topic of debate for many years. Some people argue that women should be responsible for their own safety, while others believe that society as a whole has a responsibility to protect women.
On one hand, some people argue that women should take steps to protect themselves, such as carrying pepper spray or taking self-defense classes. These individuals believe that women should be empowered to take control of their own safety and not rely on others to protect them.
However, others argue that this approach places the burden on women to prevent their own victimization and does not address the root cause of the problem: a culture that allows and even condones violence against women. These individuals believe that society has a responsibility to create an environment where women can feel safe and protected. This could involve implementing stricter laws and penalties for perpetrators of violence against women, as well as educating the public on issues such as consent and gender-based violence.
Ultimately, both approaches have merit. While women should certainly be empowered to take steps to protect themselves, it is also important for society as a whole to address the cultural and systemic issues that contribute to the problem of violence against women. Only by addressing the root causes of this issue can we truly create a safer world for women.

They are still paid less, expected to cook, clean, take care of children, etc. While the results did raise eyebrows, much attention has been placed on the effect of subconscious bias and perhaps how different genders choose jobs and careers. But I worry that will fail, on two grounds. When conducting debates in China, I was largely surprised by how liberal the audience was.

The country once enjoyed one of the highest rates of women's labour force participation in the world.
